Image Compressor Tools - Quick Guide

Option A: Drag and Drop
  • Locate your image file on your computer
  • Click, hold, and drag the image file into the dashed upload zone
  • Release the mouse button when you see the zone highlight

  • Option B: File Browser
  • Click anywhere inside the dashed upload zone
  • Select your image file from the file browser that opens
  • Click “Open” to load the image
  • Quality Slider:
    Adjust the compression level (10-100%)
  • Lower values = smaller file size but lower quality
  • Higher values = better quality but larger file size
  • Recommended: 70-80% for a good balance

  • Output Format:
    Select your desired format
  • JPEG: Best for photographs (lossy compression)
  • PNG: Best for graphics with transparency (lossless)
  • WebP: Modern format offering excellent compression (recommended if browser support isn’t an issue)

  • Compress Your Image
  • Click the “Compress Image” button after adjusting your settings
  • Wait for the progress bar to complete (this usually takes just a few seconds)
  • View the compression results in the Preview & Results section
  • After compression, you’ll see:
  • Original vs. compressed file sizes
  • Percentage reduction achieved
  • Image dimensions
  • Visual comparison of both images

  • Download Your Compressed Image
  • Click the “Download Compressed Image” button
  • Your browser will save the file with “_compressed” added to the filename
  • The image will be in the format you selected in the settings
  • Tips for Best Results
  • For photographs: Use JPEG format with quality between 70-80%
  • For logos or graphics with transparency: Use PNG format
  • For modern websites: Consider WebP format for best compression
  • Always check the visual quality after compression, especially if using aggressive compression settings
  • Experiment with different quality levels to find the best balance for your needs
  • If the tool isn’t working, ensure you’re using a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Very large images may take longer to process
  • If you encounter errors, try refreshing the page and uploading your image again
